HOLY THEOTOKOS GORGOIPIKO

The miraculous icon of the “Brzopomoćnica” (Quick Helper), with its model dating back to the 10th century, is located in the Dohiari Monastery on Mount Athos. It is one of the most venerated icons of the Most Holy Theotokos on Mount Athos (along with the “Portaitisa” in Iviron, the “Dostojno Yest” in Vatopedi, and the “Trojerečica” in Hilandar). The well-known miracle involves a monk named Nil, who went blind due to negligence, but through great repentance, he regained his sight before the icon of the “Quick Helper.”
