The icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Trojerečica” represents one of the greatest Serbian sanctities. The original, brought by Saint Sava of Serbia from his journey to the Holy Land, is now located in the Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos. It miraculously made its way from Bosnia and Herzegovina, arriving at the Hilandar Monastery on a donkey, and is considered the abbess of Hilandar, framed on the abbey chair in the Hilandar church.
