Saint Simeon of Dajbabe was born in Cetinje and received his education at a spiritual academy in Tsarist Russia, in Kiev, where he was inspired by the lives and feats of the founders and holy fathers of the Kiev Lavra. In Kiev, he was tonsured a monk and ordained as a hieromonk. He returned to Cetinje in 1888, then went to Vranjina and later to Ostrog. A miraculous vision prompted the construction of a church at the site of the current Dajbabe Monastery. He passed away in 1941, and in 1996, his holy relics were discovered.
