Saint Tsar Lazarus, with his knights, opened the gates for the entry of the Tsar of Glory on the Kosovo Field in 1389, about whom the Psalmist David sings. The vow of Saint Sava and Lazarus made the Serbs a people of multiple vows. And while Saint Sava taught the Serbs how to live for Christ, Saint Tsar Lazarus taught them how to die for Christ. “The earthly kingdom is small, but the Heavenly one is eternal,” these are the words that Saint Tsar Lazarus has been testifying from the Heavenly Kingdom for over six and a half centuries.
