Saint Zosimas of Tuman was one of several hesychasts, holy monks from Sinai who shone in our Church during the time of Prince Lazarus and Despot Stefan, greatly contributing to the preservation of the Orthodox faith, especially in the Braničevo region. Not far from the monastery, in the cave of Kameniča, this hermit struggled in prayer, and according to popular tradition, Miloš Obilić accidentally wounded the monk during a hunt. Later, he began to build a church above his grave, which he could not complete due to his death in the Battle of Kosovo. A monastery, Tuman, grew in that place.
